The Foundation Supported Living in a Globalized World Drawing Contest

April 1, 2012 started the VI All-Russian Living in a Globalized World Drawing Contest for children. The Russian Geographical Community and the Russian National Committee for Cartographers became organizers of the contest. The Foundation for Assistance for Internet Technologies and Infrastructure Development supported the event as well.

The objectives of the competition – promotion of children's artistic creativity, creative representation of the world, developing of children's interest in geography and geographic maps, increased attention to environmental problems, environmental protection and it's proper treatment.

As a part of several initiatives on developing and expanding the domain space in Russia (top-level domains .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА for the Russian capital; RUCLID project aimed at introduction of TLDs for cultural and linguistic communities represented in Russia) FAITID introduced two special nominations in the contest: “My Domain is .MOSCOW" and “Cultural and Linguistic Diversity of Russia”.
 
Every child under 15 years old can take part in the competition. To participate it is necessary to draw a picture on a paper with paints, pencils or ink, etc.

The contest results will be announced in April 2013. The best six pictures, selected by the jury, will be taken to the International Living in a globalized world Drawing Contest for children that will be held in memory of Barbara Pechenik during the XXVI International Cartographic Conference of the International Cartographic Association (ICA).
