The Department of Information Technology of Moscow Highlights the Importance of .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА Implementation

On the eve of the start of the 47th International ICANN Public Meeting the Department of Information Technology of Moscow highlighted the importance of the project for the .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА TLDs implementation.

“Approval of Moscow’s application for its own representation on the Internet opens up additional opportunities for the development of the city’s businesses and e-commerce. Now they will have an important marketing tool that will help them to link themselves with Moscow and its rich history,” said Artem Ermolaev, Acting Department Head.

The 47th International ICANN Public Meeting will be held in Durban, South Africa on July 14-18, 2013. The event will gather about 900 representatives of non-profit organizations, domain name registrars, registry operators and secondary domain market service providers.

The Foundation for Assistance for Internet Technologies and Infrastructure Development (FAITID) staff will take part in the meeting. FAITID representatives will attend the sessions on the New gTLD Program under which the .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА TLDs are being introduced. The meeting attendees will discuss the Pre-Delegation Testing process, ICANN Trademark Clearinghouse operation, the recently-adopted Registry Agreement.

FAITID will present its point of view in relation to different aspects of the New gTLD Program during the sessions of the New TLD Applicant Group (NTAG), GeoTLDs Group and the Domain Name Association.
