March 11-16, San José (Costa Rica) hosted the 43rd International ICANN Public Meeting. More than 1000 specialists from various companies and organisations, whose activity is associated with the Internet infrastructure, took part in the event.  

ICANN New gTLD program became the key topic of the forum in Costa Rica. The data on New gTLD application acceptance process, as well as the work on the various procedures and aspects of the program were presented at the conference.

Foundation for Assistance for Internet Technologies and Infrastructure Development took part in ICANN Meeting as a sponsor and presented there .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА top-level domains (TLDs). The final consultation round on the application for the TLDs was organized in Costa Rica and submission of necessary documents to ICANN for Moscow domains is planned to be accomplished soon.  

“At the ICANN Meeting we focused on the finalization of technical and financial aspects of implementation of the domains for Russian capital. Before the Meeting we had a number of issues remained regarding these aspects, - says Dmitry Burkov, Chairman of the Board of Directors. – Now they are solved so we can proceed to the final check of the application, what is the last step before it is sent to ICANN”.
