18-20 April 2012 in Moscow Region the RIF+CIB annual conference took place – the main event about Internet Industry in Russia. More than 5 thousand participants took part in the forum. Dmitry Medvedev, President of Russia, welcomed the attendees of the event.

At the first day of the conference a session on domain name industry trends was held. During the session DNS security issues were discussed as well as domain name appraisal and perspectives of new Russian top-level domains implementation within the ICANN New gTLD Program.

Andrey Kolesnikov, the Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU, presented the initiative of the Cyrillic .ДЕТИ top-level domain introduction. The project is being realized by the Coordination Center and the Smart Internet Foundation. The application for .ДЕТИ was submitted to ICANN 17 April 2012.

In the RIF+CIB domain session FAITID representatives took part. Pavel Khramtsov, the Foundation Board Member, told the participants about main types of cyber attacks that are based on the usage of the domain name system. Matvey Alexeev, FAITID CEO, made presentation on .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА TLDs implementation project.
