Report on FAITID Participation in the Seliger 2012 International Youth Forum
Matvey Alekseev, CEO of the Foundation for Assistance for Internet Technologies and Infrastructure Development, took part in the Seliger 2012 International Youth Forum and hold 15 workshops on the information technology. He paid particular attention to the description of the technical features of the Internet, as well as to the analysis of the legislation that regulates the communications between Internet users.
In particular, Matvey Alekseev explained some paragraphs of the law in draft No. 89417-6 on the Russian Internet segment filtration, and gave examples of web misuse, showed the results of fraudsters' actions with bank cards.
The audience was surprised to learn that they can be liable to administrative or criminal proceedings because of downloading unlicensed content. Many young people promised not to use websites with illegal content in the future.
Moreover, Matvey Alekseev told about the project for .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА TLDs implementation: “I am sure that these domains will bring qualitative changes to the Russian Internet, as well as help many young professionals to do their projects in these TLDs in a way not to be ashamed of the results».
Participants of the workshops suggested several ways on the capital domains' development: in particular, on structuring within the domains special space for social and charity projects.
