December 17, 2012 the Prioriotization Draw was held in Los-Angeles that determined the order in which the applications for TLDs will be processed within the first round of the New gTLD Program.

The application for the .МОСКВА cyrillic domain filed to ICANN by the Foundation for Assistance for Internet Technologies and Infrastructure Development became the 69th in the queue for implementation, while another one for the .MOSCOW domain – 881st. However, the final position of the .MOSCOW application will be announced December 19 after the additional calculations to be made by ICANN.

Dmitry Burkov, Chairman of the FAITID Board, took part in the Draw. He thinks the .MOSCOW domain will get the closer number in the line, as the extended evaluation procedure will be required for the part of applications from the list. Moreover, several competitive applications for the same string took part in the Draw as well. They may be combined.

The final information on the order of the new TLDs implementation will be available shortly, as soon as the Draw results are published on a special website.

According to the current New gTLD schedule the announcement of results of application evaluation will start in March, 2013 and will last until the end of June. Delegation of the first approved TLDs is expected in the second quarter of 2013.

"The Draw results give us an opportunity to analyze the experience of introduction of new TLDs that were placed to the beginning of the queue. This experience will be useful for FAITID during the preparation of the technological infrastructure and adjustment of all related business processes that are necessary to run .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА domains successfully."

The Draw determined the order of processing of 1917 applications on top-level domains filed to ICANN by a number of companies and organisations from all over the world.
