The Limited Registration Period 2 in the .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА TLDs (for Moscow mass media and non-profit organizations, owners of appellations of origin registered in Moscow and Moscow Region, and owners of trade names registered in Moscow) was completed August 25, 2014.

The Foundation for Assistance for Internet Technologies and Infrastructure Development continues the processing of the applications received during the period.

The next launch phase in the Moscow top-level domains — the Limited Registration Period 3 — will start September 4, 2014.

This is a period for registration of domain names reserved for the needs of the city of Moscow and the Russian Federation. A list of bodies entitled for domain name registration during the Limited Registration Period 3 is given in its Policy (for .MOSCOW, for .МОСКВА). In order to register a domain name, a government (municipal) body will have to submit (according to the instructions (provided in Russian)) a special key confirming its right for a particular domain name to a selected registrar accredited for the .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА TLDs. Such keys shall be given to government (municipal) bodies by the Foundation for Assistance for Internet Technologies and Infrastructure Development after it receives a proper request from any such body.

The Limited Registration Period 3 will last till September 22, 2014. Starting from September 24 .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА domain names will become available to anyone during Landrush, when their registration cost will be gradually reduced. Standard registration cost will be applied from December 1, 2014.
