On the 24^th of April 2014 ICANN has delegated the .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА TLDs.

According to the FAITID plans that is the registry operator for the Moscow city top-level domains registration of the names in the extensions will start in June 2014. First domain names will become available to the trademark owners registered in the Trademark Clearinghouse. The domains' official website is now available at http://nic.moscow/.

Then the owners of trademarks protected in Russia as well as Moscow mass media, non-for-profit organisations, owners of company names and designations of origin from the Russia’s capital will be able to register .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА names. General availability in the TLDs will begin in autumn 2014. It is expected that a cost for a domain name for a registrant will not exceed $USD17.

“One of the main tasks for us today is to make the .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА names’ registration process as convenient and simple as possible,” says Dmitry Burkov, FAITID Board Chairman. “That’s why at the moment we’re focused on building strong relationships with domain name registrars. Main Russian registrars have been already accredited for the Moscow capital TLDs, in the near future leading registrars from abroad will join them.”
