First UDRP Case in .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА
JSC "Center of Navigation Technologies" dba Navitel has filed a complaint with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) against a Russian citizen who has registered domain names navitel.moscow and навител.москва. Navitel aims to get rights for both domain names and use them for offering its services in Moscow.
The Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (“UDRP”) applies to .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА just as it does to all other gTLDs and also some ccTLDs. The complaint under the UDRP procedure was accepted by the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center.
FAITID experts say that UDRP applies to all disputes related to domain names in all the new gTLDs, including .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА.
Lawyer Anton Sergo, who represents Navitel, says that they need a "quick and rational decision without any delays in the proceedings."
